Am I a candidate for Robotic Spine Surgery?
Any patients who have been diagnosed with either scoliosis, herniated disc, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, or kyphosis are candidates for Robotic Spine Surgery using the Mazor Robotics Renaissance.
What are the benefits of Robotic Spine Surgery?
Robotic Spine Surgery is so helpful to surgeons because :
- Accuracy is within 1.5mm
- Allows the surgeon to plan before the surgery with 3D imagery
- Less pain and faster recovery due to minimal invasion
- Decreases risk of complication
Why is Robotic Spine Surgery considered safer?
In any surgery, the less invasive the better. The Mazor Robot allows Dr. Anthony Leone (who is the only surgeon in the Buffalo, NY and surrounding areas who is certified to use the robot) to make incisions with superb accuracey. This means the incision will be much smaller and less invasive. The smaller the incision, the less postoperative pain there will be for the patient. Both the 3D modeling (for pre-operative planning purposes) and the enhanced accuracey of the robot provide a decrease in the risk of complications due to spine surgery.
Where is the Mazor Robot located?
I was told I don't need a robot for surgery.
